This line of thought requires a little explanation. Some time ago, I posed a question to Sandra: What if Fox woke up in Utopia one morning? Kailen from Utopia (heretofore referred to as L'Hssein :)) lives and was brought up in a world totally different to Fox. Change the environment and the context in which a person grows up, and they'll be different; hence L'Hssein and Fox. So... Fox being Fox, and Utopia being a nasty place... what would happen if he suddenly woke up there? There's no explanation as to why or how, it just happens. I guess this mirrors a bunch of fics that Sandra wrote about this time where -- again, with no explanation -- L'Hssein is in the FH universe. However for him, he is finally treated with love and gentleness and respect by Collin. This is obviously the better deal in any kind of switch. As you will read. I've got to say, I've never written much of Utopia Collin... but he was fun. He's such a manipulative bastard, there's subtext to everything he says and does.

Notes: AU. The original Runihura character is one from my original Egyptian fiction, which was a particular adaptation of Fox's character. Transplanted into FH, he was the template for what eventually became the character of Arath (with fewer Setian religious overtones). I am amused at this as Fox and Arath are so different, and so blatantly don't like each other. In reality, however, they have this very odd connection. I considered changing Runihura's name to Arath in this, but it really is such an early version of Arath's character, that it doesn't bear more than a passing resemblance to the person that came to appear regularly in FH. So Runihura he stays. Meanwhile, Runihura is an ancient Egyptian name meaning 'Destroyer', and I'm so happy with all the Setian religious ritual I invented.

Notes: So Collin's Type for a very long time was tall, skinny, dark. That's Fox, that's Arath, and that's definitely N. Way back when he was in the comics, I decided to write crackfic that never saw the light of day up until a few years ago. N left FH and went on to pursue a very successful career as a character in Sandra's original novel Prophet, and all we are left with is the crack :)

Notes: Harley POV, This is AU, because it branches off from BMB canon from the time Mikhael finds out that an anonymous person kissed Harley at a party, and Harley failed to tell him about it, so Mik kicks him out. Some events have been changed to make it 'what if?', as well as some being added before a critical canon juncture. Apart from those little changes, it hopefully sticks to canon strips fairly well, and explains the situation regarding the Dean from Mik and Tybalt's past. This represented months of work, as I'm not terribly good at writing volume quickly. I hope you enjoy it!

According to a conversation I had with the creator of BMB years ago, she said that when transplanting the cast from TiH to BMB, it was a 50/50 toss-up as to whether it was going to be Mik/Harl or Tybalt/Harl as that primary relationship. Mik/Harl obviously won, but I wondered what the flip-side might've been like. I maintain that the Harley in a relationship with Tybalt would have a few key differences in his makeup, being influenced by a different partner. For one, he'd be a lot better at manipulation.

So frickin' cute. This was written way before Derringer began shagging Lesley Rudd in FH, too. Waaaay before.

Notes: Here's another 'so obscure but I love it' fic. Crossover with Scorch County, and the (still) unfinished original fic collaboration called Alternative Medicine, Sula the caveman being a main character. Sula's based somewhat off Fox from FH, and he's just so frickin' charming he's able to shag just about anyone (as the next fic will attest to). There's no explanation as to why he's in Scorch, he just showed up. And yeah, Lewis just seemed like the right match for him.

Notes: Again, one of those 'so obscure no-one will read but it's one of my favourites'. Jack is the son of Jack Silver and Marlane (before she AU-eloped with Aaron), and he's fully-human. Jeb (Jebediah), Zeke (Ezekiel Malachai) and Ezra are three of Aaron and Marlane's snake-offspring. Born as snakes, but able to shed and take on a hybridised human form. They are legitimately half-human, and so can do this without having to steal and sew a human skin like their father. The reason they look so similar to Jack and each other is because Marlane is the only human DNA they possess (the rest being rattlesnakey), so her features are very dominant. Jack has Silver DNA, and as such it's a little easier to tell him apart from his half-brothers. Since Aaron doesn't really have a surname, they take Marlane's maiden name, including Jack.
If you want to get really technical? Maru, Arath's ex-girlfriend from FH become's Jeb's gf. And they are very happy together :)
