Notes: Crack-like AU. Basically... Collin becomes dictator of a South American country. Fox becomes his general (this was before they were together in the comics). He had lots of sex with Fox, and made him call him 'sir'. Fox was known as the Generalisimo, and got to wear a cool hat, and an eyepatch, because he thought it made him look dangerous. Sometimes he wore two on both eyes, though. that was just dumb. They lived in a very nice presidential palace. And Fox got to pick his own staff purely on the basis of how sexy they were. Oh, he slept with some of them, too, but saved all the good stuff for Collin. (Collin knew about this, I should point out, it wasn't a secret adultery thing).
And Collin liked it when he got banged when Fox was wearing his hat.
It was posted in 2003, but my info tells me it was actually written on 15-09-2002! As you can see, Regime! as a ridiculously odd AU never got written, but elements of it crept into the comics, most notably 2004's Halloween.

Notes: Written before its posting date, I estimate around 2006? I really like Fox and the Demon hanging out together.
I don't know whether I ever did a good job of it, but I wanted this piece to be a little bit of foreshadowing as to what would come. Fox was getting more and more consumed with his job at The Daily Warning, and Collin finally had a good friend outside of Fox, so he was starting to entertain himself when Fox wasn't available, which was frequently. There's also that element of Fox just expecting Collin to be there for him, and the odd realisation when he's not.

Notes: Duo POV. This is another of the fics from this series where I'm really happy with the end result. It took a while to strike the right balance for Duo's internal monologue. There were a lot of balls up in the air at once in this one, and I'm happy how they all meshed. I always get the feeling that Duo would avoid funerals like the plague. One part I'm really oddly pleased with is Trowa's light-hearted moment, making Duo laugh after the funeral ceremony. This garnered some incredibly thoughtful feedback, one from someone who has experienced a military funeral before. I have no prior experience with military funerals, so to get the beautiful response, I was incredibly touched and humbled.

Everything just came together beautifully, and I'm so proud to have written it. Mad props to Stephanie on her beta of this fic, as well. I was so afraid of not getting down to the nuts and bolts of their D&M at the end... I didn't want to skimp on the emotion or just gloss over it. My first version lacked a lot of heart in that department, and Stephanie poked and prodded me in the right direction. The result is something I'm incredibly proud of.

Besides, even if I personally don't like it much, it does its job in furthering the story with these two, threads begun and continued in this run through later sections. I like my Collin-voice, in this. Now these are both listed as F/C fics, but I think it's still technically before they became a couple, if I'm remembering correctly. They're just very close, and Collin really needs the physical and emotional support at these times, which Fox is only too happy to provide. They were written in conjunction with the events going on in the Fox and Collin LJs at the time, however, and I believe in that and the comics they were slowly getting closer in the romantic sense.
